Respect for Others
We believe that each person on earth has intrinsic, priceless value. They deserve to be treated with respect. That starts with the people on our team - those we interact with daily. It extends to our customers and clients and to the vendors we work with.
For us, this means treating others as you want to be treated. We don't talk down to co-workers, vendors, or customers. We honor the dignity of every human by respecting their opinions and needs. We never say something about a colleague that we would not say to their face.
Giving respect to others also demands that having the courage to speak the truth in love, even if the conversation is tough. This could mean the unpleasant but necessary task of telling a co-worker the truth about their performance or behavior when it can help them or the team get better.
One of the main tools we use at BizLab to reinforce the value of respecting others is coaching. Every other week or so, managers meet with all of their direct reports. This is a structured time to provide candid performance feedback (both ways), resolve any relationship concerns, and realign actions and job functions to the strategic direction of the company.
